Children’s Work

The Sunday School meets each Sunday. The children look at a variety of interesting stories, characters and themes from the Bible with age appropriate activities to illustrate the lessons. The Sunday School is an enjoyable and engaging way to learn about God and the Christian faith in a loving and caring environment, and to develop lasting friendships.

Because we are a relatively small family church our children’s work and youth program are run by volunteers from the church congregation. All our Children’s workers (including those in the crèche and Good Company) are DBS Checked.  Our named Safeguarding Person is Ali.

Crèche

A crèche room is available for pre-school children and babies. The crèche is equipped with a variety of toys and learning aids. The services can be heard via the audio link. Currently there are not any supervised crèche facilities so a parent will need to stay in crèche with their children.

Sunday School

The Sunday School is run by Sue each week who leads the children in worship, prayer and Bible study in an interactive and creative way.  Throughout the year and especially at Christmas the children perform songs or short plays which are always blessed occasions for everyone.

Youth Work – Sunday

Sunday Youth is led by Merril and is mainly for teenagers who are in the mid and later years at Secondary School.  The sessions involve teaching times (sometimes using DVDs) which look at various aspects of Christian life, and include discussion and question times. They are designed to equip the young people at church to grow in their relationship with God, and to navigate their way through the challenges they face as teenagers. They also help to prepare them as they leave home for college or university.

Good Company

Good Company is a popular mother and toddlers group which meets between 10:00am and 11:30am every Thursday during school term time. It is run by Trish and Ali. Good Company caters for babies and pre-school children and provides playtime with toys laid out in the Main Church with an interactive Craft activity for the children. Tea/Coffee and biscuits are provided for the carers, and refreshments for the children. After this there is a time for singing, playing of instruments and a thought for the day. On special occasions, such as Christmas, Easter, or the end of term, a lunch is provided for mums and children. A very warm welcome is extended to all mums, dads, grandparents, au pairs, nannies and their children aged 0 to 4.
